Generally in an Indian wedding the planning/execution is handled by the family, but both Mayur and I wanted our families to be relaxed and joyous during the whole fiasco. So, we took it upon ourselves to “plan” our wedding in India all the way from Australia thinking it’ll be a walk in the park; I always wondered what every bride and groom generally complained about! We designed our wedding card, we picked out the venue and we knew exactly how we wanted everything to look like – from the mantap to the napery; after all, we lived in a time of Google. And then the old adage became true – if something sounds too good to be true, watch out! Through sleepless nights (and a little bit of panic) we realised that executing our perfectly planned wedding was a challenging task; especially in India where business is handled in person.
